She is absolutely fascinating. So smart and so unique! She has a few collections of short stories, a few novels, and a few nonfictions books, so you could dip your toe in anywhere really!

Clarifying "fit in", lived in rural area, not really poor but close to it, uniforms helped me fit in with the city kids.
