They were!!! I could’ve used a tiny bit more spice but the flavor was so good I let it slide. Thanks so much for reading! 🫶🏽

Kolina! Lifelong Minnesotan here, complete and total Fair enthusiast. The taqitos and Nordic waffles look amazing. I tried the 3 piggies on a stick: amazing. Also the Jamaican lemonade. And the berry-and-cheese plate drizzled with hot honey in the Grandstand. Can’t remember the name of the restaurant!🤬 Lingonberry honey ice cream: wasn’t thrilled. Love your idea of book pairings but I’ll have to get back to you. Reading: Creation Lake by Rachel Kushner.

Coincidentally, I’ve been struggling with a State Fair-themed post. How to do justice to this event that’s so significant to our state? Thank you for your foodie/bibliophile take on it. Maybe we should tag our fellow Minnesota Substackers. It could be fascinating to hear different perspectives.

Okay, this is brilliant. Are you based in Minnesota?

This was such a fun post! I was just in Minneapolis but had no idea about the state fair, I'll have to plan a visit around it. All of this looks delicious (although I'm not a snow cone fan) but I am extra into the Witches pairing because I loved that book too

That looks like a blast Kolina! I have never been to a state fair but we always went to the county fair when I was a kid. I miss those days!
