This is the second mention of The Eights I’ve seen. Nice review. I’ll check it out along with a couple of others. I just finished my second reading of Lincoln Highway by Amor Towles. Wonderful storyteller that filled several early morning coffee times and a rainy day on Monhegan.

The Eights is a great book! I hope you enjoy it.

I haven't read Lincoln Highway but every time I see it in a bookstore, I stop and look at it. I'm so drawn to it! I read A Gentleman in Moscow and thought it was fantastic. He's a brilliant writer. I love that you had several early morning coffee reading sessions! I can't think of anything better, truly.

Gentleman in Moscow was my favorite. Also loved Rules of Civility. Both on my to be read again list. Trying to more of that.

I haven’t read that one yet but I’ve been wanting to. Thanks for the reminder!

I’m listening to the audiobook of “All The Frequent Troubles of our Days” by Rebecca Donner and it is blowing my mind in how timely it feels.

I hadn’t heard of that but I just looked it up and am going to try to find it. Are you enjoying the listening experience?

I am! I met Rebecca a few weeks ago and that’s how I came to the book. She narrates it herself. She’s got a great voice for it.

Love that! I’ll try to find the audiobook. I’m excited!

loved "contrarian-in-the-making"

I thought of you when writing that! I always love when you throw out your contrarian view during workshop. It makes for a great conversation and lots of learning.
